cake!

Had some left over cake Jess brought home. Sugar high, headache, man-I-wish-I-hadna, but I did. Haven't ridden in days, only concern is the growing waste-line, not the dwindling fitness so much. Life is refocusing elsewhere, but still don't want to get too far off the mark in case I want to retake up the cause...which I will soon I'm sure.

Rode the 29er on the trails at Shellburg Falls early in the week with Troy and a cream-puffer and endurance singlespeeder named Doug and his two dogs, Tazo and Hank. 1x9 I've decided is good enough for lotsa stuff, but fully rigid is getting old, really slows ya down on the fast technical descents. Sorta shakes your eyeballs out, so the trail turns blurry and upside down, just end up holding on and hoping I remain pointed where I want to go. Looking forward to a suspension fork on the next build. Thinking an All-Mountain 29er with Hammerschmidt, and of course a light-weight cross country w/carbon fork...and a 29er touring bike...and, and, and...

Still anticipating the jig and bike queue is growing, wanta build! Patience, waited two years for the perfect storm, what's a few more months. Hopefully not that long, damn.

Jess for me B-day got me a studio pass at the local ceramics hippie hangout. And by hippie I mean, for Salem means, slightly grubby, but groomed crusty old slow talking libertarians, with liberal art tendencies. Throwing pootery. Pots and weirdness, clay and terra-cotta, getting back into the swing, odd remembering so easily after nearly 15 years.

Wolfman was a crap movie, despite its potential with a killer cast, so's a lot of things me suppose. In spite of all the goods, often gives birth to bads.

Reading Dante's Inferno...beautiful and more strange and creative than expected, also reading Hagakure, and Confessions of an Economic Hitman, and Bicycle Diaries, and Frankenstein, and, and, and, ADD...can't stay focused too long before I add to the pile. So, mood plays a big part in what I make way upon each day.

Trite updates, but theres they is.

Hi Friend!

Miss you and can't wait to sit and chat again SOON! I have left the brainless world of FB and am back to blogging...so refreshing.

Let me know your plans for returning. Hopefully it will be in the Spring and we can enjoy some sunshine and warmer temps together.

I am using a new recipe for homemade laundry detergent if you are interested. :) Makes 10 gallons!

Hugs to you and Jess!
